Contents Page Construction

Contents Page Planning

This page will contain different screen shots on how I created my final contents page.

To the left shows the first screen shot I have taken. Staying with the colours of the front cover piece I have used a grey background. The colours will consist of black, grey, white and yellow. The first thing added to the page was the title, the text is the same 'How do you sleep?' as the text used on the front cover to maintain branding.

My second screen shot shows the colour blocks that I have put behind the columns in which the text will go. The grey area will contain what's on each page. The two middle columns will contain a brief of the main stories. I have planned to put a photograph in the gap between the two boxes. Finally on the black area there will be a list of the top up coming concerts that are a must see according to 'Rock Garage'.

To the right of the contents page you can see the different layers being used. Each is named according to what they do.

The third screen shots displays all of the images that will be used to construct my context page. The bar at the bottom shows all the full photographs used. Photos include ones from 'The Wombats' concert which I took in October 2015. A photo of the duo band 'Queen Production'. I have cut out John from a photo, flipped the layer and put a grey outline around him. Next I will add my titles and fonts.

This is what the final product looks like once the text has been added. The different articles all contain page numbers. 'Whats in the garage' is staying with the brand and is used in the same font the logo was created with. 'What's' should contain an apostrophe, however because of the type of type of font it simply leave a gap between the black background; this is not a grammatical mistake. The fonts are consistent and correspond with the fonts used in the front cover as they are all the same. I thought the top concerts list would be a good way to keep the readers interested.

This contents page attracts my target audience of 13-18 as it contains pictures of men and women as leading roles. This will attract more women to buy it as rock is normally based for men.
