Contents Page Layout

Before I started to create my contents page for my Rock magazine. I took a look an analysed the layout that had been used for three different Rock Genre magazines, including NME, Rock Sound and Kerrang.

NME Magazine

NME Magazine was the first I analysed. I found it had the most going on. It had the most side stories that are based on the left. It had kept the colour theme from the front cover, keeping it white, black and red. This magazine had the most information about the stories and photo's that it included inside.

Rock Sound Magazine

Rock Sound was the second magazine I re-constructed. This magazine caught my eye as the main photograph was made into a contents page; I aim to do this with my own magazine contents page. It is set out very differently to the one above. It is quite clearly a smaller magazine as there is only one column of side stories. The title is included at the top along with the issue date. Key colours are blue, grey, black, brown and white.

Kerrang Magazine

Finally the last contents page I looked at was from the Kerrang magazine. Very similar to the magazine above as it only has one column of side stories. The main photo and story is based in the middle to the left. There is plenty of information on this contents page, includes a subscription which will lead you to the magazine webpage which offers more information. Title is included at the top along with the date the magazine was issued.
